Mayme Lorene Key, age 89, of Etowah passed away Friday March 17, 2017 at Hospice of Chattanooga. She was the daughter of the late Horace and Lenora Smith.
Preceded in death by husband Robert Key (02-09-2017); infant daughter, Glenda Sue Key; her parents listed above; brothers Ogle Blankenship, James Smith, Donald Smith and sister Bobbie Newman.

She took a lot of pride and delight in spending her Sunday afternoon preparing home cooked meals for her family. She also loved canning, quilting, and taking care of her flowers and gardens.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-laws: Robert Dexter Key and wife Karen, David Franklin Key and wife Kelley; daughters and sons-in-laws: Judy Ann Jenkins and husband Johnny, Sandra Jane Kilpatrick and husband Harold, Shelia Jean Swafford and husband Lynn, Rhonda Gail Davis and husband Richard; grandchildren: Carol and Rick Darr, Greg and Diane Kilpatrick, Bart Jenkins, Adam Kilpatrick, Dustin Davis, Caleb and Ashley Swafford, David Davis, Kirby Key, Haley Key, and Brady Key; great-grandchildren; Katlyn Jenkins, Alyssa Jenkins, Ashley Jenkins, Alvin Kilpatrick, Aidan Kilpatrick, Alonna Kilpatrick, Madison Kilpatrick, Faith Marie Davis, Catlyn Godley, Acacia Gossett, Tanner Gossett; great-great-grandchildren: Rylan Jenkins, Carter Bowen-Reed and Daily Darr.

Funeral service will be held 11:00a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in the south chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Lloyd officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday March 20, 2017 in the south chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow service at Mars Hill Cemetery.
