Melva Jean Morgan Green, age74 ofEtowah, TN,passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at her residence. She graduated fromErlanger Nursing School. Melva was employed with theMcMinn County Health Department for 47 years. She was thedaughter of the late Dora and Earl Morgan. She was preceded in death byher husband, Edward Leon Green; band her parents listed above.

She was named Nurse of the Year in Tennessee in 1976. She performed home visits to her patients in McMinn, Monroe, and Polk Counties. She enjoyed working in her yard and gardening.

Survivors include her daughter;Kim Bledsoe ofEtowah, TN; granddaughter;Shelby Bledsoeof Etowah, TN, brothers and sisters-in-law;Wayne and Judy Morgan,Raymond and Jennie Morgan,Edward Labron and Mary Morgan,Earl and Patty Morgan, sisters and brother-in-law;Janice and Jimmy Toomey andWanda Ditmore.

Family and friends will assemble at Bordwine Funeral Home at 12 noon, Monday, September 15, 2014 and proceed to Brock Cemetery for the 1:00 p.m., graveside service in Polk County.Rev. Edward Labron Morgan will officiate.

Evan Ray, Rusty Davis, Mike Harrill, Burke Garwood, Ivan Snyder, and Randy Belcher will serve as pallbearers.

No formal visitation will be held.
