Melvin "Bug" Newman, 89, formerly of Etowah, passed away, Saturday December 13, 2014 at Tennova Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was a son of the late Glenn and Mary Newman; he was preceded in death by his parents, listed above and his brother, Charles H. Newman.

Survivors include nephew and niece, Charles "Steve" Newman and Mary Newman of Townsend, TN; nephew, Joe Newman of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Mary Newman of Maryville, TN; several cousins; and many friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Robert E. Hamilton officiating.
