Michael Shane Chustz, 39, of Athens, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 20, 2013, on Starr Mountain.He was born to Sharon Hawes Doughty on Aug. 23, 1973, in Baton Rouge, La. A native of Zachary, La., where he lived for 38 years, he was an employee of Hammonds Masonry - a family business. He was a top-notch welder and loved nature, fishing and the mountain views of Tennessee. He was an avid LSU fan.He loved his wife and kids dearly. He was an amazing dad, husband, son, brother and best friend.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Thelma Story. Survivors include his wife, Tiffany Siobhan Hammonds Chustz of Athens; his two sons, Jacob Chustz, age 10, and Jayden Chustz, age 5; one daughter, Phoebe Chustz, age 10, of Washington; his father and mother, Lester and Sharon Doughty of Zachary, La.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kyle and Sharon Chustz of Zachary, La., and Joseph and Jennifer Doughty of Georgia; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Stephanie and Jeff Lemings of Jackson, La., Laki L. Williams of Zachary, La., Tammy and Kevin Doughty Hilton of Denham Springs, La., and Laurie and Larry Doughty Barkley of Breaux Bridge, La.; two brothers-in-law, Casey Hammonds and Ben Barker; sisters-in-law, Quinci, Taylor and Ashlyn Ponthier, Cassie Lambert and Christina and Daniel Newhouse; his mother-in-law and her husband, Robin Barker Ponthier and Joey Ponthier; his father-in-law and his wife, Ken and Cindy Hammonds; and several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Old Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Kinzel Hooker officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
