Michael Kelly Hammons, 57 of Benton, TN passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018.

He was a Member of Hiwassee Union Baptist Church; employed at Thomas and Betts, Athens, TN; a graduate of UTK with an Engineering Degree; he was an avid sportsman and a little league coach; and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is the son of Florine Hammons and the late Wayne Hammons.

Preceded in death by his father; Wayne Hammons.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Teresa Hammons of Benton, TN; sons, Michael and Alex Hammons both of Benton; Daughter, Angel Wallace of Benton; mother, Florine Hammons; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Mike Ward of Etowah; brothers and sister-in-law, Wayne and Cathy Hammons of Knoxville, Gary Hammons of Etowah; nephews, Gary Hammons, Jr., Tyler and Bradley Ward; niece, Crystal Cardin; and his beloved Dog, "Frank".

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Hatcher officiating.Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 6th at the funeral home and proceed to Hiwassee Union Baptist Cemetery for the 10:00 a.m. committal service.
