Mildred Abbott, 94, of Cape Girardeau, MO, formally of Etowah, died Monday, May 07, 2012 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO.She was born August 15, 1917 in Etowah, Tennessee to Thomas H. and Katherine Lee Gary DeLaney.She and Robert M. Abbott were married March 16, 1960 at Etowah, TN. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2002. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Etowah, TN.Mildred had been an elementary teacher for 39 years before retiring and then moved to Cape with her husband in 2000 to be with family.Survivors include 3 nieces, Lee D. Love,Debbie D. Corse andKathy D. Haas,Nephew, Paul H. DeLaney, Jr.,Eight great nephews,Two great nieces,Two great-great nephews,Six great-great nieces.She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Paul H. DeLaney and Robert G. DeLaney Sister - E. Jean DeLaney Niece - Katchie Kyle DeLaney Nephew - Gale Porter DeLaney.Visitation will be from 3 pm to 3:45 pm on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Bordwine Funeral Home in Etowah.A graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m., to Green Hill Cemetery in Etowah with theMinister Louis Rouse officiating.Memorial contributions can be directed to the charity of one's choice.
