Mildred "Millie" Galyon Axley, 96 of Athens, TN passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at NHC HealthCare of Athens. Daughter of the late James and Callie Galyon and she was a member of 1st Baptist Church Athens; and of the Athens Federal Travel Club.

Preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Robert Axley; daughters, Jane Axley-Hinds and Phyllis Schlicker; parents, listed above.

Survivors include 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas A. and Geraldine Galyon of Lebanon, TN.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. Jason Clark officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday prior to the service. Interment will follow service in Foshee Cemetery.
