Monie Carolyn Leonard Brock

Ms. Carolyn Brock of Fountain City, TN entered into eternal rest early Sunday morning, March 27, 2022 after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Etowah where she was a graduate of Etowah High School; after graduating from high school, she became a teacher at Etowah Elementary School; after teaching for three years, she attended First Maryville College and then the University of Tennessee where she studied music. She then attended the University of Washington in St. Louis, MO where she graduated with a degree in Business Management.

In 1947 she met the love of her life, Olen Barker Brock, Sr. They were married in November of 1950 and they relocated to Mitchell AFB, NY for two years where their first son was born and then transferred to Warner Robbins AFB, GA where Olen retired from active duty. After retiring, Olen entered the GA, Air National Guard at Dobbins AFB in Marietta, GA; Marietta became their permanent home where they raised their family.

During the 1960's she began a multi decade career of teaching music including piano, organ and voice. Several of her students became Broadway and Hollywood performers. She was the organist at Eastland Heights Baptist Church in Marietta for ten years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of over 54 years, Olen Barker Brock, Sr.; her parents, Mark MacMahan (MM) Leonard and Lena Pearl Leonard; two brothers, Mark and Lewis.

She is survived by her two sons, David (Alisa) Brock, Olen (Pat) Brock; daughter, Carolen Ann (Frank) Caggiano; granddaughters, Patricia Brock (Lee Ellis), Aimee Roth, Holly Justice (Andrey Krasnopeyev), Tiffany Ford; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2022 in Green Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
