Nannie Bell Morrison, 82, of Athens, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. A daughter of the late James and Emma Riden, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon D. Morrison; one brother, James Riden; and two brothers-in-law, George Bryant and Dan Rogers.Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Morrison of Athens; one son, Vernon T. Morrison of Englewood; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Alice and Ribe Burns, Margie Bryant and Donna and Larry Craig, all of Athens, and Nora Rogers of Riceville; one granddaughter, Jaclyn Swaney; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Bordwine Funeral Home with James Buchanan officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday and will proceed to Wesleyanna Cemetery for the 2 p.m. burial.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
