Narvelene Smith, 79, of Etowah, TN passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025.

She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Reliance. She enjoyed working puzzles, coloring, fishing, and gardening in her free time. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was a great cook.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Ernest Smith; parents, Rev. Herman and Mary Guthrie; son, Delbert Frazier Smith; six brothers; two sisters; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rev. Gene and Geneva Smith.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Wooten; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Jeff Swafford; son, Larry Smith; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Marvelene Casteel; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Laura Guthrie; several extended family members.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 31st in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Sunday prior to the service.

Interment will follow the service in Etowah Cemetery.
