Nora Margaret Phipps, 82, a longtime resident of Polk County, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, surrounded by her family.  Margaret is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Sullivan Phipps, of 64 years.

Margaret was born Amarillo, TX, on July 27, 1940.  She attended high school in Gallup, NM, and attended both University of Arizona and Arizona State University.  She was active in her college sorority throughout her life.

Margaret married Charlie, the love of her life, on August 23, 1958, in Gallup, NM. They traveled frequently and lived in many different places including Arizona, Washington, California, Pennsylvania, Alabama, and Tennessee, where she and Charlie retired.  She loved being with her family and friends for holidays, events, and day-to-day living.  She lived her life to the fullest and was always happiest when surrounded by family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved parents Elaine Higgins and Floyd Higgins, her brother Mel Elson, and her sister Judy Roach.  She was a caring and loving mother to her three sons Kenneth, Darren, and Andrew Phipps and their spouses Annette, Renée, and Angela. She is survived by her sister Regina Elson and brother Page Elson as well as many nieces and nephews.

Margaret and Charlie have 13 grandchildren: Cassandra Phipps, Logan Phipps, Alexandria Phipps, Keegan Phipps, Kameron Phipps, Keira Phipps, Katelyn Phipps, Dana (Tiffany) Agnew, Crystal (Sean) Riding, Amber (Nathaniel) Mocalis, Robert Scott, Joey (Nicole) Scott, and Brian (Stephanie) Scott.  They also have 19 great-grandchildren: Connor Bailey, Jonathan Bailey, Gregory Moreno, Jordan Moreno, Colton Agnew, Isabella Agnew, Dustin Riding, Kaitlynn Riding, Cassandra Riding, Kylee Riding, Alexander Mocalis, Emma Mocalis, Jackson Mocalis, Lillian Scott, Eloise Scott, Henry Scott, Theodore Scott, Lewis Scott, and Sawyer Scott.

Memorial services will be held at Margaret and Charlie's home at 172 River Run Road, Calhoun, TN 37309 on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
