Olliemae Morgan Rayburn, age 88, of Etowah, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, February 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 24, 1937, Olliemae lived a vibrant life filled with love, dedication, and service to her community.
Olliemae devoted many years of her life to her career, having worked at Woods Hospital before retiring from Etowah Health Care. Her impact on the lives of those she cared for will be remembered by all who had the privilege to work alongside her in the health care field.
A member of Conasauga Baptist Church, Olliemae found joy and strength in her faith, which sustained her throughout her life. She cherished her church community and enjoyed fellowship with her fellow congregants.
In addition to her professional commitments, Olliemae was an avid reader who loved to immerse herself in books. She also had a profound love for animals, especially her pets, Squally and Blue. Olliemae filled her home and heart with the warmth of family, extending her love not only to her children and grandchildren but also to her twelve great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved family, including her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Becky Rayburn, Tony and Shannon Rayburn, and Bo Rayburn. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren and their spouses, Brett and Kelsey Rayburn, Matt and Katie Rayburn, Chance Rayburn, Mindy and Josiah Ellis, Mark and Caryn Rayburn, Ryne Rayburn, Hailey Beaty, and Carson Rayburn. She also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews, who will remember her fondly, along with her longtime best friend, Mary Janes.
Olliemae was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Rayburn, who passed away two years prior. She was the daughter of the late Virgie and Ollie Morgan and was preceded in death by her siblings; J.B. Morgan, Geraldine Watts, Hazel Dean, Charles Morgan, Reed Morgan, Betty Watson, and Glenn Morgan.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Green Hill Cemetery in with Rev. Matt Rayburn and Rev. Tony Curtis officiating. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers, a testament to the deep bonds of love and respect she fostered with her family.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga and her devoted caretakers, Barbara Farrell and Darla Monroe, for their compassion and support during her final days. Olliemae will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, love, and unwavering faith.
