Opal Marie Simmons, 95, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Life Care Center of Cleveland, TN. She was the daughter of the late Garrett and Mary Ethel Standifer Smith and a member of North Chattanooga Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, listed above, her husband, Claude Simmons, four sisters, one brother, grandson, Brian Hendrix, and great-granddaughter, Whitney Hendrix. Survivors include, two daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Snowden of Charleston, TN and Shirley and Perry King of Cleveland, TN; one sister, Retha Stepp of Dayton, OH, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2012, at Center Point Cemetery in Bradley County with Rev. Allen Burdette officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Les Gray, Greg Gray, James Leslie Gray, Brad Bales, Todd Gray, Bobby Hendrix, grandsons, and great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
