Paul Kenneth "P.K." Buckner, 73, of Etowah, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. He was retired after 38 years as a locomotive engineer with CSX Railroad. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and 1 1/2 years during the Cuban Missile Crisis, for a total of 5 1/2 years of service. A son of the late Henry and Emma Buckner, he was a member of Conasauga Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Buckner of Etowah; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Joy Buckner of Etowah; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Vince Williams of Etowah; two grandchildren, Harley and Ryder Williams; two stepchildren and their spouses, Kim and Shannon Rahn of Savannah, Ga., and Jason and Kim Vance of Corbin, Ky.; step-grandchildren, Hunter and Wes Rahn and Erica and Lee Vance; one brother, Harold Buckner of Etowah; one sister and brother-in-law, Aileen and Omer Ingram of Etowah; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Best officiating. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery.
