Pauline Land Cass, 92, of Maryville, and formerly of Englewood, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at Tennova Residential Hospice in the Halls Crossroads community of Knoxville after a brief illness. Born Oct. 25, 1919, she was a member of Wilson Station Presbyterian Church. A daughter of the late John and Ethel Land, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Curtis Cass. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Becky Cass of Knoxville; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Stacey Lynn and Richard Lyons of Knoxville; one great-granddaughter, Emma Lyons of Knoxville; one brother and sister-in-law, J.L. and Hazel Land of Ten Mile; two sisters-in-law, Bobbye Land of Maryville, and Sue Land of Englewood; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. David Graybeal of St. Mark United Methodist Church and the Rev. Craig Fairall of Wilson Station Presbyterian Church officiating. Entombment will follow in the McMinn Memory Garden Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
