Rachel Marie Shamblin, 83, of Athens, TN passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the home of her daughter. A native of McMinn County and daughter of the late Clyde and Katherine Wilson Pickens. She was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Claude Shamblin; 4 sisters, Emma Peters, Nellie Dennis, Pauline Yarber and Shirley Furr.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Kenny Boggess; son, Claude Shamblin, Jr.; grandson, Thomas Shamblin; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Carlos Liner of Calhoun, TN; brother and sister-in-law, J.R. and Jo Pickens of Cleveland, TN; brother-in-law, W.H. Yarber of Cleveland, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Double Springs Cemetery with Ford Ector officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.
