A native of Polk County and resident of Etowah for the past 43 years, she was a daughter of the late Earnest and Emma Seay Triplett. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Athens Post # 5146, and the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, Etowah Post. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther C. Morgan Sr.; one granddaughter, Morgan Alyssa Hunter; one sister, Lorene Martin; and one brother, Buster Triplett.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Wayne Goodman of Etowah, Hazel and Rick Shelton of Barrington, NH, and Robbie and Sam Blakley of Englewood; one son, Luther C. Morgan, Jr. of Etowah; 6 sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillian Higdon of Houston, TX, Bobbie Coleman of Etowah, Betty Hamby of Etowah, Sue and Willie Pritchard of Cleveland, Nina Reynolds of Sweetwater, and Leona and Tommy Haney of Etowah; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Inez Triplett of Athens and Darrel and Mary Ann Triplett of Lenoir City; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Don Padgett officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15th and proceed to Morgan Cemetery for an 11 a.m. committal service.
