Obituary

Reverend Joe M. Ingram, born April 27, 1918, an evangelist and wayfaring pilgrim, has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior on this 1st day of April in the year 2010. He had resided with his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Clayton Rucker for 3 years. His legacy holds 55 years of preaching in the surrounding areas of McMinn County, including travels to other places in Tennessee, Kentucky, N. Carolina, S. Carolina and Georgia. He was a member of Meadow Fork Baptist Church, was retired from L & N Railroad, and was a veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Lillian Regina Ingram; one infant brother, Fred Ingram; two brothers, Harley Ingram and Homer Ingram; two sisters, Mertyl Buckner and Minnie Lou Allman; one daughter, Margaret Hembree; and an infant grandson, David Lalee Rucker. Survivors include his five loving children: one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Clayton Rucker of Etowah; four sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Glenda Ingram of Etowah, Ogle and Jackie Ingram of Reliance, Leonard and Betty Ingram of Etowah, and Rev. Ray and Mary Helen Ingram of Etowah; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Omer and Allene Ingram of Etowah and Walter and Bernice Ingram of Englewood; 2 sisters and 1 brother-in-law, Bertha Mullinax of Etowah and Emma Lee and Claude Derrick of Englewood; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Ingram of Athens and Georgie Ingram of Etowah; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Green and Rev. Allen Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Cambria Cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3rd for the committal service.
