Rev. Richard Freeman, 82, of Etowah, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital. He pastored at Word of Faith Church in Etowah and Piney Grove Community Church in Tellico Plains. A son of the late Luther and Cora Freeman, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joel Freeman. Survivors include his wife, Faye R. Freeman of Etowah; three sons, Curtis Freeman and Carl Freeman, both of Reliance, and Doyle Freeman of Etowah; two stepdaughters, Brenda Shaw and her husband, Sherman, of Madisonville, and Melinda Moses of Sweetwater; 12 siblings, Leon of Englewood, Brenda of Tellico Plains, Margaret of Castilian Springs in Nashville, Faye of Loudon, Mildred of Delano, Alma of Georgia, Mary of Athens, Calvin of Georgia, Sydnor of Reliance, Baxie of Georgia, Gladys of Tellico Plains, and Edith of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Michael Exline and Randall Morgan officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Piney Grove Cemetery in Tellico Plains. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
