Rodney Borden, age 57 of Athens, TN, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017. He was the son of the late Jerry Dejuan and Elaine Ferguson Borden. Rodney was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of University of Tennessee Knoxville. Rodney's hobbies included gardening, UT football, stock car racing, and was an avid reader. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Anne and Floyd Cochran and Harold and Willie Borden; and nephew, Beau Borden.

Survivors include Fiancee, Deborah Mayfield; brother, Mike Borden of Chattanooga, TN; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Connie and TR Vincent of Decatur, TN and Lisa and Jerry Miller of Englewood, TN; nieces and nephews, Chris Vincent, Courtney Jenkins, Heather Atkinson, Hunter Borden, Sydney Miller, and Dylan Miller; step children and wives, Rico and Precious Mayfield, Grant and Melissa Mayfield, and Brad and Audrey Mayfield; special friends, Sandra Elrod and Doug Bussell; host of step grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Englewood United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Cardin and Dr. John Oldham officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
