Ronny Borden, born on October 31, 1937, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026. He was a devoted member of Englewood United Methodist Church and a cherished presence within his community.
Throughout his life, Ronny found great joy in the simple pleasures of nature. An avid fisherman and camper, he treasured his time outdoors, nurturing a love of gardening and the serenity it brought. His passion for sports was particularly pronounced in his enthusiasm for all Tennessee teams, where he demonstrated steadfast support and pride. He also enjoyed listening to music.
Above all, Ronny’s greatest joy was his family. He loved them deeply, with a special affection for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought light and happiness to his later years. His heart was full of treasured moments spent with his beloved wife, Joyce Borden, and his children: Kim Borden Patterson and her husband Jim Patterson, as well as Bart Borden and his wife Jenny Trew Borden. His legacy continues through his grandchildren—Rebecca Borden Eaton and her husband Kevin Eaton, Amber Patterson Moore and her husband Josh Moore, Jenna Patterson Moses and her husband Ethan Moses, and Chet Borden and his wife, Carrie Smith Borden. The joy he found in family extended even further to his great-grandchildren: Gabe Eaton, Ryne Moore, Jayven Moore, Leviah Eaton, Caylee Borden, Saul Moses, and J.D. Moses.
Ronny is also remembered fondly by his sisters, Betty Borden Davis and Pat Borden Barnett, along with a multitude of special nieces and nephews, as well as the extended family at Englewood United Methodist Church who were a significant part of his life; and his Bowater family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Borden and Willie Lee Jeralds Borden, and his brother, Jerry Borden.
Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2026 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Tallent and Pastor Angela Akers officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday prior to the service.
Family and friends will assemble at McMinn Memory Gardens, Saturday, April 4th for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/promotion/srch/impact-thanks.html or to Gideon's International at https://gideons.org/donate.
