Rosa Lee Wolf Phillips, 87, of Englewood, TN, passed into her Heavenly home on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Freddie D Phillips; parents, Henry and Bertha Wolf, son, Alan Dewitt Phillips; in-laws, Chester and Dorotha Phillips; siblings, Elsie Detrick, Ernestine (Lawrence) Schulz.
Rose was born in McDade, TX on February 12, 1938.

After graduating high school in 1956, Rose was working in Austin, TX where she met Freddie Phillips of the US Air Force. They were married on June 1, 1957 at Elgin Lutheran Church in Elgin, TX. Later they were stationed in Clovis, New Mexico where their oldest son, Alan was born.  After Fred served in the Air Force, they moved back to McMinn County, TN where they welcomed three more children, Charles, Ann, and Lynn.

Rose was a member of Englewood Christian Church since 1967, where she was active in the Ladies Circle.

Rose worked as a payroll clerk at Etowah Industries and Carwood Industries. Later Rose worked alongside her husband Freddie at Phillips CPA.

Rose had a passion for traveling where she visited all the lower 48 states with her late husband.  In 2016 she had the opportunity to visit her grandson who was stationed in Alaska. She would often visit her sisters, nieces, and nephews in Texas during the summer months to attend their annual Watermelon Festival or Wolf/Jenke family reunions. Rose loved spending time with her family and was always ready to play a game of cards (Rook) or dominos (42). She was always entertaining her grandkids and would have a home cooked meal for them ready every Sunday afternoon.  She always had treats of chips, cookies, cokes and loved to treat her grandkids out to dinner of their choice. Rose loved working in her garden and would grow the best tomatoes. She would sit on the porch drinking her coffee as she enjoyed her flowers and bird watching. Every Christmas she would be found in the kitchen making homemade divinity candy.

Survivors include her son, Charles (Robin) Phillips of Englewood; twin daughters, Ann (Jim) Swayne of Etowah, and Lynn (Mike) Morrison of Athens; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Phillips of Englewood; grandchildren, Daniel (Briana) Phillips of Englewood, Ricky (Kisha) Phillips of Englewood, Amanda Phillips Burchfield, Quintin Phillips and Madison Phillips of Englewood, Makayla Phillips Fangman (Ben) of Atlanta, GA; Mark (Marley) Swayne, USCG, Philadelphia, PA, Jennifer Swayne Brown (Robert) of Cleveland, David Morrison of Athens, and Grant Morrison of Chattanooga, TN; great-grandchildren, Brent Phillips (Nicole) of Knoxville, Emily Phillips of Englewood, Aidan Phillips of Cleveland, Lilyan, Briley, Parker, and Barrett Phillips of Englewood, Brycen, Brayden Burchfield, Braxton Mixon, and Riverlynn Goodner of Englewood; Addyson, Ruthanne, and Margaret Swayne of Philadelphia, PA; Paige and Stormer Brown of Cleveland, TN; nieces, Melba Skubiata (Wayne) of McDade, TX, Debra Schubert (Leslie) of Lexington, TX; nephew, Paul Detrick (Georgia) of Jarrell, TX.

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Englewood Christian Church, 308 Englewood Ave. Englewood, TN with Layspeaker, John Hale. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Family and friends will assemble at McMinn Memory Gardens, Wednesday, March 5th for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
