Roy Lynn Nivens, 70, of Etowah, TN passed away Monday, July 21, 2025.

Roy Lynn was an Army veteran, an active long-time member of Amvets Post 100. He served one year as the Post Commander and over ten years as Judge Advocate at Amvets Post 100. Roy Lynn loved anything to do with the outdoors, farming, camping, fishing, skiing on the river and riding his Harley. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Roy Lynn was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy G. and Betty Jewell Corn Nivens; stepdaughter, Autum Greene Cogdill; father and mother-in-law, Carl and Ruth McCaslin; special friends, Hank Whitworth and Steve Withers.

Survivors include his wife Annette McCaslin Nivens; son, Steven Lynn Nivens; son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Misty Nivens; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Candace and Justin Taylor; stepson, Devin Greene; grandchildren, Kaden, Mason, Aaron, Colby,  Kinsley, Kali, Klover, Blaine, Keara, Analiah, Samuel, Luke, Ember, Aerin-Marie, Noah and Destiny; great grandchildren, Baylor and Milo; brothers Phil and Bruce Nivens; brother-in-law, Larry McCaslin; sister-in-law, Joyce Watson; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 25th in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Paul White officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m., Friday prior to the service.

Interment will follow the service in Coghill Cemetery.

Sandy Phifer, Jim Woods, Mark Kribbs, Scott Ervin "Scooter", Andy Wihr, and Mike Bell will serve as pallbearers. James "JT" Thompson, Harold Buckner and Hoyt Martin will serve as honorary pallbearers.
