Ruby Janice "Jan" Thomas, 92, of Tellico Plains, TN passed away Monday, May 1, 2023.

Jan was a member of Long Ridge Baptist Church. She was a resident of Etowah, TN for 30 plus years, spending several years working at Morgan and Carwood Manufacturing's. In her spare time, she loved sewing, quilting, gardening, and listening to the birds sing. Jan looked forward to picking and grinning with her family and friends, as well as going to watch grandchildren and great-grandchildren play different sports.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, David Thomas; parents, Lester and Amiela White Taylor; brothers, Jim, Paul, Lester, Raymond, Chuck and Roger Taylor; sisters, Shirley, Avis, Ada and Sue Taylor; children, Alan Thomas, Anna Adams and Gloria Hale.

Survivors include her brothers, Phillip "Poochy" and Darrell Taylor; sisters, Evelyn Raby, Lorene and Bridgett Powers; children and spouses, Pamela Womac, Mary and E.W. Wilson and Sarah Boring; grandchildren, Leslie Spradling, Bryan Thomas, Rachel, Hope, and James Womac, Joshua Lyle, Brittany Boring; several great and great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol Taylor.

Celebration of Life will be held for Jan and her husband David, who passed away in 2020. Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023 in Taylor Family Cemetery with Rev. Carroll Hamilton officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the home of Sarah Boring, 145 Wilson Road, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
