Ruth Barnett Ball, 89, of Englewood, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on the family farm and has lived there all her life. She was a daughter of the J.E. and Jodie Watson Barnett. She was a member of Wilson Station Presbyterian Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest A. Ball; and two sisters, Effie Newman and Neppie Webb. Survivors include her daughter, JoAnn Ball of Englewood, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ernie and Marilyn Ball of Englewood, TN and Jim and Barbara Ball of Englewood, TN; grandchildren and spouses, Lisa and Jody Derrick, Chris and Karen Ball, Emily and Lance Douglas, Chip and Julie Ellison and Jamey Ellison.; eleven great-grandchildren; two nephews, Wayne Newman and Lawrence Webb; one niece, Imogene Cochran; and one sister-in-law, Esta Lee. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 17th at Wilson Station Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Craig Fairall and Rev. Ted Watson officiating, eulogy will be by Jim Ball. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at McMinn Memory Gardens at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 18th for the committal service. Tom Toomey, Gene Morgan, Cecil Tallent, Bill Constant, Austin Constant and Alvin Williams will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Fund C/O Hobert Gentry 118 Co.
