Ruth W. Choate Jenkins, 90, of Englewood, TN passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

She was a daughter of the late Horace and Pearl Williams.

Preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Choate; children, Harold David Choate and Wes Jenkins; grandchild, Adam Bradley Burris; siblings, Inez Newman, Paul Williams and Hoyt Williams.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Jenkins; daughter and husband, Rebecca (Becky) and Benny Burris; grandchildren, Jessica Burris Baker and husband, Tony Baker, David Jenkins and Hannah Jenkins; special nephew, Gerald Williams and wife Novella; along with several dear nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and many dear friends in Tennessee and Mississippi.

Ruth was a woman who loved her family with every part of her being. Nothing gave her greater joy than to be with her dear husband, children, and grandchildren.

Ruth loved to cook, to work in the garden (vegetables and flowers), go fishing, and shop until she dropped with her best friend, Della Sue Middleton. She loved watching the Tennessee Vols play football and Atlanta Braves play baseball. She loved birds of all kinds and insisted they were fed throughout the year. God's beautiful world gave Ruth much joy throughout the years.

Ruth loved her church and to sing; but more importantly, she loved her Savior Jesus Christ and she always insisted that her family sing Happy Birthday to Jesus each Christmas.

Ruth had a wonderful sense of adventure and humor. She climbed into a deer stand with Albert and rode roller coasters with her sister, Inez. There was no hill that Ruth wouldn't slide down in a good snow. She loved traveling and got to see much of our beautiful country. Ruth could always find something to laugh about even if it was herself! Her sense of humor was contagious!

Ruth taught her family many things that they will cherish forever. She will be missed by all who knew her. We have lost a precious angel here on earth. She has retired to heaven- not sick nor old but young and healed.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2022 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Angela Akers and Minister Richard Tallent officiating.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Family and friends will assemble Friday, October 28 ^th at McMinn Memory Gardens for the 10:00 a.m. committal service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be made to Englewood United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 146, Englewood, TN 37329.

Gerald Williams, Benny Burris, Tony Baker, David Jenkins, Steve Williams and Danny Jenkins will serve as pallbearers.
