Ruth Evelyn Choate Scarbrough Pierce, 94, of Etowah, TN "Goodsprings Community" passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019.

She is a daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth "Betha" Choate.

Ruth was raised in the Goodsprings Community and a member of Goodsprings Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her first husband, Anderson "Tige" Scarbrough; second husband, David Pierce; 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law, Fred and Bert Choate, and Harold Choate.

Survivors include daughter, Peggy Scarbrough Fincher and her husband, Jerry; granddaughter, Traci and David McCullough of Knoxville; grandsons and spouses, Anderson and Amy Fincher of Elmhurst, IL, Jason and Kristin Fincher of Murfreesboro, TN; great-grandchildren and the light of her life, John David McCullough, Clint, Samuel and Madelyn Fincher, Callum, Clara and Evie Fincher; nephew, Mike and Linda Choate; nieces, Suzy and Randy Hill, Becky and Benny Burris; sister-in-law, Ruth Choate Jenkins.

A special thank you to Etowah Health Care for the wonderful love and care they have given her for the past 6 years.

At her request there will be a graveside service with no visitation held.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Goodsprings Cemetery with grandson, Jason Fincher and Dr. David Lones officiating.

Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Anderson Fincher, Jason Fincher, Clint Fincher, Samuel Fincher, David McCullough and John David McCullough.
