Ruth Wallis, 87, of Etowah went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 14, 2016 at her residence. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Allen Casteel, Cora Belle and Cecil Tallent.

Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Edna Disney; and niece, Cecilia Disney.

Ruth was born in Englewood but lived in Etowah most of her life. She graduated from Etowah High School.

Ruth was a devout Christian and was very active in her church Calvary Baptist. She could quote many passages from the Bible and would say them often after she lost her sight. Her favorite story in the Bible was Ruth & Naomi.
She enjoyed serving others and found happiness making people feel loved, but most of all she loved reading her Bible, spending hours in God's word.
She enjoyed keeping her grandchildren and sharing stories of the past.

Survivors include her husband, J.L. Wallis of Etowah, TN, Ruth was a devoted & loving wife to J.L. for 66 years; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Mike Bible of Benton, TN; grandchildren, Lacy Fetzer, Jaelyn and Halle Bible all of Benton; sister and brother-in-law, Audine and Tom Aderhold of Etowah, TN; nephews and nieces, Frankie & Bobbie Disney of Knoxville, Marty Aderhold, Keith & Pam Aderhold, Greg & Laura Aderhold all of Etowah and a special friend Reba Curtis of Etowah.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Etowah Cemetery with Chaplin Mike Justice officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
