Sam Wolfe, age 73, of Delano, went to his heavenly home, Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

He was a son of the late Brunner and Amalee Wolfe, and a native of Monroe County. Sam was the owner and partner of the Tom Thumb Restaurant along with his wife, Ethel. He was a proud vet of the U.S. Army serving in Korea, a member of Delano Baptist Church, and the American Legion of Etowah, post 0011. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was preceded in death by his parents, listed above; his brothers, Horace B. and Tommy Wolfe; and sisters, Nell Rickman and Violet Trivett.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ethel Wolfe of Delano; sons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jenay Wolfe of Etowah, and Scott Wolfe of Benton Station; daughter, Penny Wolfe of Delano; grandchildren, Adam Wolfe and wife, Brandie of Delano, Amber Wolfe of Knoxville, Laura Wolfe of Etowah, and Natasha and husband, Keith Dyer of Sweetwater; great-grandchildren, Cameron Wolfe, Hailey, Joshua, and Jacob Dyer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donnie and Linda Wolfe of Lenoir City and Jimmy and Priscilla Wolfe of Athens; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda Murphy of Madisonville, Betty Byers of Sweetwater, Midge and Clarence Clark of Sweetwater, Gail and Gary Hutson of Lenoir City, Dot McCosh of Knoxville, and Karen Richmond of Lenoir City; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2013 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. John Powers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 22 at the funeral home and proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for an 11:00 a.m., committal service with military honors. John Bohannon, Ryan Combs, Ethan Starr, Tyler Williams, Adam Wolfe, and Nathan Woody will serve as pallbearers.
