Sandra D. Russell "Sandy", 49, of Athens, TN passed away Monday, February 3, 2020.

Preceeded in death by her father, Charles S. Russell.

Survivors include her mother and step-father, Carolyn R. and Olen Johnson; sister and fiancé, Stephanie Russell Nelson and Marty Wilcox; step-brother and wife, Lee and Michele Johnson and family; niece and her fiancé, Kali Nelson and Jessie Combs; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sandy loved to attend Oasis Ministries; she loved sports and spending time with her cat, Chloe and special friend and caregiver, Joanne Case.

She was a 1988 graduate of McMinn Central High School; Associates of Applied Science in Human Services from CSCC in 1997; Bachelor of Science and Psychology at Lee University in 2004; she also held a CNA Certification.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2020 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Watson, Rev. Kenneth Gardner, and Dr. David Spencer officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Mars Hill Cemetery Friday, February 7 ^th for the 11:00 a. m. committal service.
