Sara C. Wallace, 86, of Etowah, died Friday morning, February 26, 2010 at Woods Memorial Hospital in Etowah. A native and lifelong resident of Etowah, she was a daughter of the late Alvin William and Emma Leo Fortenberry Wallace. She was employed as a secretary for Rowland Pontiac; was an employee of Johnson's Coca Cola; and was vice-president with Cantrell Bank and Southern United Bank. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Etowah, and was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin W. Wallace, Jr.; and two sisters, Frances J. Wallace and Emma Sue Wallace Tutton. Survivors include one sister, Lillian Wallace Proctor of Kingston; nieces and nephews, Delora Tutton Elder of Athens, Nancy J. Proctor of Knoxville, Joseph M. Tutton of Clinton, William D. Proctor and wife Marjorie of Portland, Oregon, Clinton William Tutton of Knoxville, Jeffery H. Proctor and wife Staci of Kingston, and Samuel Tutton and wife Heather of California; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Gary Baker officiating. Burial will follow the service at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.
