Mary Sarah Alice "Aunt Toot" Ervin Cantrell, 102 of Etowah, TN passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Zona Ervin. Preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm L. "Dick" Cantrell; sisters, Letha Sutton, Ida Lou Duggan; brothers, Edward Ervin and Pat Ervin. Survivors include her nieces, June Duggan and Norma Wadsworth-Merril; nephews and spouses, Dwight and Louise Ervin, Larry and Judy Duggan, Allen and Pam Duggan; and many other family members.

Sarah Alice "Aunt Toot" was a member of the Mecca Pike/Etowah community her whole life. She met and married her husband, "Dick" Cantrell and together they built their home themselves. She was a seamstress at the Etowah Drapery Shop, a Cook at McMinn Central High School and worked for A and H Cafeteria. She was known for her kind heart, witty personality, cooking and baking skills, and just a fine Christian Women!

She loved children, volunteered for years, at North Etowah Baptist Church Nursery where she was also the oldest church member; she was active in domestic and foreign mission work, Sunday school, "Keenagers" at Woodward Church of God senior adults, Girl Scout leader and hostess to the family pig roast and was always taking care of her nieces and nephews! She brought joy to so many areas of this community and she will be missed, greatly!

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2018 at Green Hill Cemetery. Friends and family may gather at 1:30 prior to the service at the cemetery. Rev. Darryl Veal and Layspeaker Dennis Bordwine will officiate. No formal visitation will be held. Russ Duggan, Andy Duggan, Jonathan Schneider, Rick Bennett, Allen Duggan, Dwight Ervin and Larry Duggan will serve as honorary pallbearers.
