Sarah B. Johnson age 80 of Etowah passed away Tuesday night, September the 7th at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. She was a native of Pikeville, TN and a daughter of the late Harry Brown and Delta Tollett Brown. She was an active member of Cog Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star Etowah Lodge. She was an avid bowler and loved to garden and tend to her flowers. Sarah was retired from AT&T where she worked for 34 years. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and servant of God. She is preceeded in death by her parents and a sister, Elizabeth Brown.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Rual Johnson of Etowah; daughter, Jennifer Van Donkelaar of Port St. Lucie, FL; two sons, R. Bart Johnson and Jeffrey B. Johnson, both of Etowah; 10 grandchildren, Christina Kilburn, Matt Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Bobby Van Donkelaar, Allison Van Donkelaar, Ashely Van Donkelaar, Holly Van Donkelaar, Christiaan Von Donkelaar, and Ryan Johnson; 5 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Martin of Tampa, FL; and one brother, John Brown of Pikeville, TN.

Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, September 9th in the South Chapel with Rev. Ted Painter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Bordwine Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Friday and proceed to Cog Hill Baptist Church for the 11 a.m. committal service. Grandsons Ryan Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Christiaan Van Donkelaar, Bobby Van Donkelaar, Matt Johnson, and Garth Kilburn will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carlock Methodist Church in her honor.
