Scotty Bowers, 47, of Athens, TN passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022.

Scotty loved playing chess.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Spurgeon; father, Gene Bowers; brothers, Gary and Michael Bowers.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Matt and Amy Bowers, Chris and Wendy Clute; sisters and brother-in-law, Tammy and Tim Barker, and Jennifer Kilby; stepfather, Jimmy Spurgeon; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2022 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Cardin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Sunrise Cemetery, Friday, December 9 ^th for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
