Spence Boyd Brinkley, 85, of Etowah, TN passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at his residence. He was a native of Polk County and served in the US Army from February 28, 1951 until February 27, 1953. He was a son of the late Samuel and Lou Ella Brinkley, and retired as a sewing machine mechanic at Morgan Manufacturing. Preceded in Death by his brothers, Ruiel Hall, Cecil Hall and Gene Brinkley; sister, Johnnie Goble; and parents, listed above.
Survivors include, sons and daughters-in-law, David and Patricia Brinkley of Etowah, Robert and Wendy Brinkley of Etowah; Daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Tony Meehl of Syracuse, NY, and Darlene Brinkley of Tellico Plains; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews
Step-children, Dana and Barbara Maynard, Thomas Evans and Brenda Evans
Loving companion of 26 years, Gail Evans; 3 step-grandchildren; Wife of 32 years, Dorothy Brinkley sister, Gladys Partin
Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Brinkley and Rev. Matthew Brinkley officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00, p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home, Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m., committal service with Military honors.
Aaron Brinkley, Matthew Brinkley, Tony Meehl, Derek Brinkley and Jacob Brinkley will serve as pallbearers.
