Ted Haralson, 83, passed away at his home in Charleston, TN on October 31, 2014. He was born on May 7, 1931, in Etowah, TN. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, William D. Haralson and Alice Melton Wilkerson; and sister, Henrietta H. Golden. He graduated from Etowah High School and attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served immediately after WWII and during the Korean War. Ted retired from his business, C&C Auto Parts, Charleston. He was a member of Alhambra Temple of Shriners International and was a founding member of Alhambra Horse Patrol. He was also a member of Nocatula Civitan Club. He joined Civitan International in 1980 as a charter member of the Athens Civitan Club.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Haralson of Charleston; two sons, John T. and wife (Marlene), of Ooltewah, William Mark Haralson and wife (Robin), of Birchwood, TN; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Haralson, of Knoxville, and Courtney Holloway and husband (Condredge), of Knoxville; grandsons, Seth Haralson, Alex Haralson, of Chattanooga, Condredge Holloway III, of Knoxville, granddaughters; Haley Haralson and Kinsey Haralson, of Birchwood, two sisters; Vera Mae Fryar, of Chattanooga and Katherine Haralson, of Los Angeles.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Bordwine Funeral Home in Etowah, TN. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at Calhoun First Baptist Church, Calhoun, TN. Rev. Kevin Cheatham and Rev. Ted Painter will be officiating. Interment will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be, sons; John T. and William Mark Haralson, Condredge Holloway, grandsons; Seth Haralson, Alex Haralson and Condredge Holloway III. Honorary pallbearers will be N.C. Cartwright, Rual Johnson, Kenneth Melton, Willis Trew, Rev. Ted Painter, Randy Melton, and Jimmy Melton. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Rebecca Kennedy and other members of Amedisys Hospice for the love and care of Ted and his family.
