Temple Stewart James, age 92, born on October 2, 1919, a native and lifelong resident of Etowah, TN, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Etowah Health Care Center, Etowah, TN. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and was a daughter of the late Fred G. and Veda Bates Stewart. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. James, Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Fred G. and Elizabeth Stewart; and beloved niece, Sandra Kay Stewart Murphy.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Wes and Debbie James of Loudon, TN and Steve James of Riceville, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy D. and Jerry Moates of Houston, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Jack B. and Kathleen Stewart of Maryville, TN; grandchildren and spouses, Jerri Anne and Kenny McCraw of Denison, TX; Adam and Jenny James of Hixon, TN; and Ashley and Jay Johnson of Henderson, TN; great-granddaughters, Lauren McCraw and Dublin Marie James; nieces, Elizabeth Polhans of Sierra Vista, AZ ad Pat Pickard of Flemington, NJ; special friends and neighbors, Dennis and Susan Morgan and many beloved friends.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Green Hill Cemetery with Layspeaker Dennis Bordwine officiating. No formal visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, PO Box 306, Etowah, TN 37331.
