Teresa Hammons, age 53 of Benton, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Starr Regional Medical Center of Etowah.  She was a loving wife and mother. Teresa enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family. She especially loved her pets. Teresa is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Kelly Hammons and parents, Sammy and Trula Miles.

Survivors include sons, Michael and Alex Hammons; daughter, Angel Hammons of Benton; 2 brothers, Mike Miles of Lafollete and Mark Miles of Lake City; and her beloved pets.

Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2019, in the south chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Hatcher officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2019 at the funeral home then proceed to Hiwassee Union Baptist Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
