Terry Wayne Akins, 64, of Etowah, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital. A son of the late Corbin and Henrietta Akins, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nita Akins Williams. He enjoyed woodworking and crafts and was an avid outdoorsman. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Audrey Rodgers of Cleveland, and Lorie and Timothy Phillips of McMinn County; one sister, Connie Akins of Etowah; four grandchildren, Exzayveon Smith, Destiny Arnwine, Nijah Phillips and Nydaya Phillips; one great-grandchild, Aydenn Huerta; and one niece, Tosha Gay Sledge. A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Goodsprings Holiness House of Prayer, located at 928 County Road 660 in Etowah.
