Thelma C. Trusley, of Etowah, TN, passed away, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Etowah Health Care Center. She was a daughter of the late John Milton and Ora Lee Coleman. A native of Polk County, she moved to Etowah in 1943.She was a member of Coghill Baptist Church and a former member of Eastern Star of Etowah. She was a teacher at Farner School and retired from K-25 Oak Ridge after 40 years as a Lab Analyst. Thelma loved to travel, walk, flowers and her work. Preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lucille Nichols and Anna Belle Coleman; 2 brothers, Robert and Charles Coleman.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Glenn Trusley of Etowah; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Brenda Coleman of Tampa, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Gene Perry of Etowah; 2 sisters-in-law, Eva Sue Coleman and Joann Elliott both of Etowah; 2 nephews, Mike and wife, Linda Nichols of Athens, and Alan Perry of Etowah; 2 nieces and spouses, Kitti and Joe Gaston of Etowah, Liddy and Jeff Berry of Orlando, FL.
Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2013 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Hatcher officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 12th at the funeral home and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service. Alan Perry, Mike Nichols, Robbie Hatcher, Will Hatcher, Danny Puett, and Doyle Puett will serve as pallbearers. Lowell Duckworth and Wayne Shell will serve as honorary pallbearers.
