Thomas Martin Aderhold, Sr., 83 of Etowah, TN went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 11, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, G.L. and Lily Aderhold; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Cora Belle Tallent; six brothers, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He retired from Bowater Southern Paper Company after 41 years of service. He served with Tennessee Army National Guard and with the McMinn County Sheriff's Department for several years. He was a lifelong member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church of Etowah were he faithfully served in many capacities with the church, especially with the food pantry. He shared his love of the Lord through visiting the nursing homes, hospital, and those confined to home. He was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Audine Casteel Aderhold; three sons and daughters-in-law, Marty Aderhold and special friend Stephanie Stewart, Keith and Pam Aderhold, Greg and Laura Aderhold; six grandchildren, Dustin Aderhold, Laura and James Carr, Brooke Harris, Matt and Jena Aderhold, Kristen and Gage Moses, and Sydney Aderhold; seven great-grandchildren, Locke and London Harris, Ryder Aderhold and Ava Moses, Tucker and Adelynn Carr, and Lylah Aderhold; brother-in-law, Jay Wallis; several nieces and nephews, special friends and caregivers.
Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday March 14th at the funeral home and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m., graveside service with Pastor Wayne Hickman officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions are made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Food Pantry, 923 Ohio Ave., Etowah, TN 37331, or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
