Thomas James King, 70, of Englewood, TN, passed away Friday November 1, 2013, of cancer of the esophagus. Tom lived mostly in California, as his father was in the Marines. He worked for ABC-TV in San Francisco until he went on a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission, he finished his Bachelors Degree at Brigham Young University. While he was working on his Masters Degree at Central Missouri University, he supervised the TV studio for the university. After graduation, he worked for BYU-Hawaii. He also taught at Tennessee Wesleyan College. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry Hamilton and Marguerite Jean King of California. He leaves behind his wife, Carolyn Yvonne King, son Daniel Kent King, daughter in-law, Christina Burrell King, three grandchildren, Taylor, Samantha, and Sean.
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2013 in the South Chapel, of Bordwine Funeral Home with Bishop R.L. Pitcher officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble Monday, November 4th at Mars Hill Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
