Thomas LeRoy Rogers

Thomas LeRoy Rogers, 89, of Etowah, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 at Woods Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Etowah. During World War II he served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was retired from Johnson Controls..

Survivors include his loving wife of 67years, Ruth Kilpatrick Rogers of Etowah, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and David Mantooth of Calhoun, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sherry Rogers of Lenoir City, TN; three grandchildren, Shad Mantooth and wife Cassie of Middleburg, FL, Lisa Fleenor and husband David of Knoxville, TN and Brian Mantooth of Calhoun, TN, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 8, 2011, in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Fox officiating. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble Monday, May 9, 2011 at McMinn Memory Gardens for the 10 a.m. committal service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Etowah, 824 Washington Ave., Etowah, TN 373331.
