Thomas Russell Wall, 96, beloved husband, father and grandfather, of Englewood, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Woods Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 6, 1915, he was a son of the late Joseph Cleveland and Callie Buckner Wall, formerly of the New Zion community. A lifelong resident of McMinn County, he retired from Union Carbide in 1978, and was an avid farmer and woodworker. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens, was 32nd degree Mason, and served as a deacon for many years at Zion Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence Wall, Arnold Wall, Arvel Wall, Ralph Wall and Carroll Wall; and two sisters, Ada Watson and Dorothy Watson. Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Ruth Brock Wall; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Hoyl Priest of Athens, Marianne and Lynn Coltharp of Englewood, and Jannie and Sudhir Mendiratta of Cleveland; grandchildren and their spouses, Annette and Stan Weaver, Tammy Priest Branham, Patrick and Missy Priest, Kimberly and Todd Henderson, Suneel and Mary Ellen Mendiratta and Sudave and Holly Mendiratta; great-grandchildren, Ian Weaver, Hannah Weaver, Patrick Priest, Hunter Priest, Garrett Priest, Caroline Henderson, Chloe Henderson and Solomen Mendiratta; one great-granddaughter, Hailey Weaver; one sister, Ellen Shugart of Etowah; and several nieces and nephews. A Masonic service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home followed by funeral services with Dr. Jason Clark officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in McMinn Memory Gardens with grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers.The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
