Tommy Paul Lucas, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away surrounded by love and family on Friday, January 23, 2026. He was born in Kingsport, Tennessee, and spent his life rooted in hard work, integrity, and deep devotion to those he loved.
Tommy dedicated more than 30 years of service to the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), where he worked for corporate safety. Known for his strong work ethic and commitment to protecting others, Tommy took great pride in his career and the relationships he built over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Loree Lucas, and his beloved nephew, Austin Lucas.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Gwen Lucas of Knoxville; stepdaughter, Marilyn Miller of Etowah; brother, Scott Lucas (Johanna) of Nashville; brother-in-law, Lee Bates (Rosey); sister-in-law, Paula Lucas of Nashville. He also leaves behind his nephew, Jonathan Lucas (Haley) of Nashville; Aunt, Betty Davidson Harris of Memphis; Uncle, Harry Davidson of North Carolina.
He was a grandfather to Max Miller (Faith) of Cleveland and a great-grandfather to Hayden and Parker of Cleveland. Tommy is also survived by several nephews and nieces, great nieces and great-nephews, as well as a wide circle of lifetime friends who will miss him dearly.
Tommy will be remembered for his dry wit, his intelligence, and his devotion to his wife, his family, his friends, and to his profession. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
