Obituary

Mona Treva Hunt Rogers, 94, of Etowah, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at NHC Health Care of Athens

Born June 14, 1916, in Tellico Plains, she was the daughter of the late Barrett and Lula Coppenger Hunt. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Rogers; two sisters, Eva Nichols and Maxine Parker; one brother, Burl Hunt; and two infant children.

Survivors include four daughters and one son-in-law, Lou Ann and Donald Buckner of Etowah, Jane Taylor of Loudon, Gwen Underwood of Etowah, and Ginger Farrell of Athens; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. B.J. Wall officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday in New Providence Cemetery in Tellico Plains.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Patterson, Brandon Farrell, Barrett Barnett, Huston Goldman, Joseph Farrell and Tony Underwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Lee and Tyler Patterson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
