Velma L. Derrick, 87 of Englewood, TN passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at Life Care Center of Athens. She was a daughter of the late Elihue Barnett and Chassie Carruth.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Derrick; daughter, Brenda Derrick; parents, listed above; step-mother, Lula Barnett; brothers, Kenneth, Dillard, Voyd and Fleetus Barnett; sisters, Nellie Mae McKee, Elizabeth Barnett and Ruth McCaslin.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law,Paul and Jeannette Derrick; granddaughters and spouses, Kelly and Michael Stephens,Kristin and Lee McCormack; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Stephens, Mattie Stephens,Jakob McCormack, Kameryn McCormack and Jaxon McCormack

Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Russ Maples officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2015 and proceed to Mars Hill Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m., committal service.

Pallbearers will be Michael Stephens, Lee McCormack, Jakob McCormack, Joe Barnett, Rodge Masingale, and Ronnie Fain.
