Vida Mae Rucker

Vida Mae Rucker, 97, of Etowah, died Tuesday morning, January 18, 2011 at her daughter's residence in Walland TN.

A native of the Liberty Hill Community in Monroe County, TN, and a resident of Etowah most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Forrest and Oleva Burger White. She was a member of the Etowah Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by parents listed above, one son, William Lee Rucker Jr., Stepfather William Miller; two sisters, Nina Miller Majors and Nora Lee Miller Tatum; and five brothers; Hubert White, John Miller, Harry Miller, Charles Miller, and Fred Miller.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Eva Grace and Jimmie Evans of Walland TN; two grandchildren, James Evans, and Bobbe Ann Gray and spouse Roderick; and two great granddaughters, Laura and Lisa Gray.

Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 in the South Chapel with Minister Chester Perian officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Cochran Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, January 21st for the committal service.
