Virginia Ann Brackett Pope, 84 of Calhoun, TN passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018. She was a daughter of the late Froney and Gladys Brackett. She was a Member of Spring Creek United Methodist Church and retired from Davidson Textron. Preceded in death by her husband, Jim Pope; parents; and brother, Jack Bracket. Virginia was the 1st female commissioner of Niota. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jenny Pope Tucker and husband David; grandchildren and spouses, James and Leslie Tucker, Jonathan and Emily Tucker; great-grandchildren, Madeline Tucker, Landry Tucker and Lowry Tucker; special niece, Robbie Sharp; special friend, Elizabeth Plemons. Thank you to the staff and caregivers of Life Care Center of Athens. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Niota Cemetery with Rev. Corey Miller officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
