Virginia Doris Campbell, 93, of Etowah,TN passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Hospice Care Center of Chattanooga. Daughter of the late Carl and Belle Wade and a member of North Etowah Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and read her Bible daily, she was a natural witness. In her early 20's she worked in Oakridge, helping manufacture the atomic bomb and before retiring she was a part-time cook with the Food Service, at Woods Hospital. Preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Campbell Sr.; brothers, John and Ralph Wade; sisters, Wilma Lee, Sue Clayton and Onita Wade.
Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd Jr. and Cheryl Campbell of Sachse, TX; Fred and Charlotte Campbell of Meridianville, AL; grandchildren, Jordan and wife Tiffany Campbell, Carl Campbell, Tye and wife Caitie Campbell; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Camden Campbell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sara and Jim Willis of Alcoa, TN, Ruth Kelley of Huntley, IL, Juanita and Vearl Kennedy of Athens, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014 assembling at Idlewild Cemetery with Layspeaker Dennis Bordwine and Bro. Mark Wade officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in the South Chapel, of the funeral home.
